Instant Messaging and Chatrooms

Instant messaging and chatrooms are a good way of keeping in contact with friends, making new friends, and finding information e.g. songs, pictures, news. Although the two are alike they differ in big ways becasue instant messaging is alot safer; you choose your friends and only really accept people you no where as chatrooms are open to every body; anyone can get your address and talk to you sometimes this can be very dangerous because criminals may use it as a way of disguising there identity to trick people into believing that there something there not.

I use instant messaging and chatrooms regularly and have never had any problems with weird people adding me or trying to talk to me, its just if you use it in the proper way and dont talk to people you know you shouldnt be it can be very safe and only a place where you talk to friends.
